Broken Bells (James Mercer of The Shins + Danger Mouse)

Today, the new collaboration between Shins lead singer James Mercer and famed producer/collaborator Danger Mouse (aka Brian Burton) released their first free single download. The High Road is available at their website, BrokenBells.com for the price of your email address.

Broken Bells features Mercer on vocals, guitars and bass while Burton plays organ, drums, piano, synths and bass. The album, also titled Broken Bells, will be released by Columbia Records on March 9th, 2010. Broken Bells was recorded by Todd Monfalcone and Kennie Takahashi at Mondo Studio in Los Angeles and produced by Burton.

I like your integrity my dear. I'll see yours, and raise you one. I went to this concert by myself by the way. On my 29th phucking birthday.

(she was still living in Florida, and ended up getting an Interpol shirt due to the fact that she wasn't there)

This is much harder for me.

There must be a hundred truly incredible songs that I've had the pleasure of hearing this year. I'm not sure what the catalyst was, but the evolution of music I've experienced over couple of years make me smile, think, and lose myself like I did before I knew what the world really was. AMEN INDIE MUSIC GODS! I bow to you.
